Her musical training started in quintessential Asian style with classical piano at age 3. Her interests then extended to vocals, when she was forced to sing an impromptu piece during a school activity. It was then that she discovered her fear of being in the spotlight and (although TLC would later disagree) her not brilliant vocal skills, and opted for the bass guitar.

She played bass for a myriad of bands halfheartedly, drifting through life until she was approached by The Liar’s Chair on her return from an African safari in 2008. Although she is encouraged to utilise her [self-described] not brilliant vocal skills whilst playing the bass, she is never allowed on the keyboard.
