Clive
Clive Ba-Pe (19)
Electric Guitar, Keyboard
Appropriately characterised as the fetus of the group, Clive is the youngest Liar in all definitions. Although playing piano since the age of 5, he would steal his dad’s guitar at every opportunity to play one note versions of ‘Joy to the World’, ‘Advance Australia Fair’ and other such classics.
At age 12 he started learning seriously, or as seriously as a Zeppelin obsessed 12 year old could. This obsession evolved into his love for anything different, progressive, underground and trippy. His love for Massive Attack and NIN turned him to music production and songwriting. Not wanting his songwriting to be limited by his technique, Clive began the Tom Morello routine, i.e. learning to DJ on a guitar.
After almost 2 years of songwriting and producing, Clive was approached by The Liar’s Chair to step into the huge shoes left by Mervyn O’Flanagan. They jammed up something fierce and thus he became the new member of The Liar’s Chair. Since then, Clive has brought his style to the band via his synth and guitar layering, as they work to progress their ever evolving sound.
